Vaccination Requirements
Alberta is seeing a huge increase in fleas and ticks every year during the spring and summer months. If your dog is staying during this time, please administer flea/tick treatment at least 72 hours before your check in date. This medication can be found at most pet stores. Thank you for keeping all our dogs itch free.
At Paradise Kennels Calgary, we prioritize the health and safety of all our canine guests by adhering to strict vaccination requirements. To ensure a healthy environment, we require all dogs to be current on their vaccinations, including rabies, distemper, and parvovirus. Kennel cough is also strongly encouraged. By maintaining these standards, we can provide a safe and enjoyable stay for every dog at our luxury facility.
Titer tests are also accepted.

Food Preparation
We insist that owners supply their own dog food because changing your dog’s food can be very stressful, especially when he’s staying at a kennel. Having their own food makes your dog feel more at home. We accommodate all meal plans; raw, dehydrated, kibble, canned etc. We have a fridge/freezer to ensure the food remains fresh.
Do not pack each meal in individual bags (unless on raw). Extra food will be not be returned, so please measure accordingly, however we recommend sending an extra couple days’ worth of food in case of travel delays.
Dry Kibble Preparation:
- With a measuring cup, measure exactly how much food your dog eats per day.
- Times your dog’s stay by the cups of food they eat, then add a day or two more in case of a delay.
- Eg: (10 days X 2 cups = 20 cups + 2 days (4 cups) = 24 cups.
- Place all food in 1 or 2 large disposable bags (shopping bags work perfect) with feeding instructions put directly on the bag with your dog’s name!
- Have it ready for your driver when we collect your dog to make pickup smooth and quick (we do not want dogs in the taxi waiting)
Raw/Homemade Food Preparation:
- Figure out how many patties/meals your dog eats per day.
- Times your dog’s stay by the food they eat, then add a day or two more in case of a delay.
- Eg: (10 days X 1 patty = 10 patties + 2 days (2 patties) = 12 patties
- Place the food in a bag with instructions put directly on the bag with your dog’s name!
- Have it ready for your driver when we collect your dog to make pickup smooth and quick (we do not want the pups already collected to be waiting)
Canned Food Preparation:
- Count exactly how many cans your dog eats per day.
- Times your dog’s stay by the food they eat, then add a day or two more in case of a delay.
- Eg: (10 days X 1/2 can = 5 cans + 2 days (2 cans) = 7 cans
- Place cans in a sturdy plastic bag with instructions put directly on the bag with your dog’s name!
- Have it ready for your driver when we collect your dog to make pickup smooth and quick (we do not want the pups already collected to be waiting)
DO NOT send any personal items such as: Food containers, bowls, measuring cups, collars, blankets, leashes, harnesses, choke chains/pinch collar, toys or chews/bones etc…. We cannot accept any personal items because of sanitation and safety reasons.
We only want a naked dog and a bag of dog food when we arrive with the taxi.
